PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have asked for the public’s help in finding three people suspected of burglarizing and torching a North Philadelphia grocery store two weeks ago.
Investigators said it was around 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 1 when three men wearing hoodies and face coverings broke into the store at Ringgold and Berks streets. Surveillance video showed the individuals trying to break into an ATM inside the business with an ax.
One of the suspects hurt his hand in the attempt, according to officials.
Another suspect was seen pouring charcoal lighter fluid in one of the aisles. A fire could also be seen in the kitchen area. Authorities did not immediately say if anything was taken from the property.
Anyone with information on the incident has been urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department.
