PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Bensalem are searching for a suspect who destroyed a memorial dedicated to Peter Romano, the 14-year-old boy who was shot and killed last fall.
Romano was killed on Halloween night when a large fight broke out among juveniles.
His family set up a memorial near where he was killed, in a parking lot at Bristol Pike and Woodbine Avenue. Police said around 2 a.m. on New Year's Day, an unknown person destroyed it.
Surveillance video shows the suspect running up to the memorial with what looks like a bat and destroying it before running off.
That Halloween shooting also injured a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old.
Bensalem police previously said 19-year-old Sean Hughes was identified as a person of interest in the crime. He fatally shot himself after a police chase in Ohio, according to investigators.
