PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities are investigating after a female student at Villanova University was reportedly raped over the weekend.
It happened Saturday evening. Authorities said the student was sexually assaulted inside her residence hall by a male she knew. School officials said the male is not a student at the university.
They did not disclose further details, nor confirm whether the male was in custody.
The university’s Department of Public Safety said in a statement that all forms of sexual misconduct, including assault, harassment and exploitation, will not be tolerated.
The school is also investigating the incident.
