PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Crews are on the scene of a water main break that caused a road to buckle in the Rhawnhurst section of the Northeast.
The Philadelphia Water Department said crews shut off a 12-inch main that burst on Algon Avenue, near Hoffnagle Street, early Friday morning.
Water gushed out onto the street. Now, at least 20 properties in the area are without water, officials said. It isn’t clear how long it will take to restore service.
There are no reports of property damage. There are road closures in the area as crews continue to work on repairs.
