BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Tyler State Park is closed indefinitely after an accident involving a resource ranger.
State Police say the 38-year-old ranger was in a kayak around 12:30 p.m. when it capsized in the Neshaminy Creek, sweeping him downstream. It is unclear whether or not he was working at the time his kayak overturned.
EMS crews from 10 municipal and state agencies rushed to the scene to begin a frantic search — several rescue boats were deployed, and divers hit the water.
Day one of the search was called off around 5:30 p.m. Friday. It resumed Saturday morning and will likely pick back up again Sunday. In addition to finding the ranger, state police are also looking into how his kayak capsized.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
