PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A little more than a month after its previous CEO, Michael DelBene, resigned following this year’s Fourth of July concert on the Parkway, Welcome America has named a new interim CEO.
Nicole Cashman, founder and CEO of Cashman & Associates, will step in to lead the nonprofit.
Welcome America is behind some of the city’s biggest events, including the festival and fireworks show on the Fourth of July. Cashman’s strategic marketing and communications firm, founded in 2001, has long helped Welcome America boost publicity for its events and experiences.
“I have had the privilege of working alongside Welcome America for 25 years and have seen firsthand the extraordinary impact this organization has on Philadelphia and the region,” Cashman said in a statement. “I am honored to step into this role and work with the existing staff and our many partners to continue advancing Welcome America’s mission and building on the strong foundation that has been established.”
Cashman has previously stepped into interim leadership roles at Visit Philadelphia and the Atlantic City Alliance.
