PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 60-year-old West Chester woman has been charged with attempted murder, after she reportedly shot someone and threatened their life.
According to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, police responded to reports of a shooting on the 200 block of Chestnut Street in Downingtown Sunday.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect, Debra Dora, holding a firearm. They immediately took her into custody.
The victim, who authorities have not yet identified, was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to the DA’s office.
“This case demonstrates how a personal dispute can quickly turn into an act of violence,” Chester County DA Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe said. “Thankfully, the Downingtown Police Department quickly responded to the scene and was able to apprehend the Defendant so she can be held accountable for her actions.”
Dora is currently being held in Chester County Prison on $750,000 bail for attempted murder and related charges.
