PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man in West Philadelphia pulled a gun on two teens who tried to rob him on Saturday, according to police. They exchanged gunfire, which critically injured the victim and one of the teens.

It happened around 9 p.m. near 41st Street and Girard Avenue. Officials said two 16-year-old boys targeted a 26-year-old man. The victim was hit in the chest and one of the boys was hit multiple times during the shootout.

"We were in class and we were studying and we heard a noise — a shooting — bow, bow, bow, bow, bow!" a witness told NBC10.

The victim, who police said was licensed to carry, was taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition. The teen boy who was hit was also hospitalized in critical condition. The other boy was not hurt and police arrested him at the hospital, authorities said.

Police said guns were recovered on the scene. There's no word yet on specific charges.

Police are investigating if the teens were involved in other robberies in the area.
