PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — When former NFL star and media personality Michael Strahan and his 19-year-old daughter Isabella announced that she was battling a brain tumor called a medulloblastoma, it gained widespread attention.
Although rare, medulloblastomas are one of the most common types of brain tumors in children. The initial symptoms are headache, dizziness and nausea. Because these symptoms occur commonly and for a wide variety of reasons, how do you know if a brain tumor is causing similar symptoms?
If you have these symptoms and they are severe or don't go away, call your physician who can help treat the cause — whether it is a common problem or, in the worst-case scenario, something that is serious.
