PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Some residents of Wilmington, Del., are being advised to boil water before consuming it, after a water main break near Delaware's Bellevue State Park.

Water utility company Suez North America says the break affected distribution to communities including Bellefonte, Edgemoore and the Bellevue area of Philadelphia Pike.

Workers from the company have been repairing the break.

Customers are asked to boil water before drinking it, cooking with it, washing dishes or food, brushing teeth and any other consumption. Water does not have to be boiled for showering or washing clothes.

The company said in a statement that it will inform residents when the advisory is lifted.
