Woman admits to killing husband, staging death as suicide

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia woman charged in her husband’s death has admitted to killing him and staging it to look like a suicide.

Danielle Baxter pleaded guilty to third-degree murder, abuse of corpse, tampering with evidence, and a weapons charge.

In March 2025, Danielle Baxter reported to police that she found her estranged husband, Jordan Baxter, lying between two parked cars along Bells Mill Road, near Ridge Avenue, in Roxborough, shot in the back of the head with a gun on his chest.

According to investigators, between inconsistencies Danielle Baxter made in her statements and ballistic testing, they linked the shooting death to her.

She is expected to be sentenced in October.
