SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia police officer and his 19-year-old daughter were the targets of an alleged murder-for-hire plot in Camden County, orchestrated by the officer’s ex-girlfriend, officials said.
According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, a confidential informant posing as a hitman communicated with the suspect, 26-year-old Jaclyn Diiorio, of Runnemede, and agreed to kill the 53-year-old cop and his daughter.
Diiorio met the informant for payment, investigators said, near the intersection of Black Horse Pike and Evesham Road in Gloucester Township on April 3.
Prosecutors said Diiorio negotiated a price of $12,000 to have both killed. She was arrested after giving the informant $500 as a down payment.
She is now being held on first-degree attempted murder, first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Police said she had generic Xanax pills on her at the time of arrest.
A detention hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
