Woman and dog killed in early morning Bucks County house fire

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A woman and her dog are dead after an early morning fire ripped through a home in Quakertown, Bucks County on Wednesday.

Officials say flames broke out around 4 a.m. at the house along Mountain View Drive in Haycock Township.

First responders arrived and found the woman's body at the back door of the home next to a dog that had also been killed in the fire.

Officials have not said if anyone else was rescued from the residence.

The victim was later identified as 73-year-old Holly Susan Pechter-Walters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
