PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people were killed in separate car crashes in Philadelphia early Saturday morning.
Around 3:30 a.m. in North Philadelphia, police said a suspected drunk driver hit and killed a woman on Lehigh Avenue, near Germantown Avenue.
Officials said the driver did not have her lights on, and she hit a 58-year-old woman and her husband as they were crossing Lehigh.
Police said the driver is in custody.
And about an hour earlier in the Rhawnhurst neighborhood of Northeast Philly, police said a man was killed in a crash at Algon Avenue and Rhawn Street.
Investigators said two cars were involved. A man in one of the cars went into cardiac arrest and died at the hospital.
