PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police believe they have the car connected to the deadly shooting of a young woman in West Philadelphia's Cobbs Creek section on Tuesday — a shooting investigators believe was targeted.

Just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Philadelphia police officers near 60th and Market streets heard multiple gunshots. When they arrived they found a 20-year-old woman shot in the face, torso, hip and leg. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The woman was later identified as Imani Ringgold. Police said she was shot while carrying a pizza box.

A 55-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were also shot. Police said they’re hospitalized in stable condition. Investigators don’t believe they share any ties with the deceased woman, but it’s currently unclear.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said nearby surveillance cameras captured a small, dark SUV as it pulled up and three people got out — their actions signaling to investigators that this was a targeted attack.

“You can clearly see the front seat passenger run up onto the sidewalk, stand over this 20-year-old female as she’s lying on the sidewalk, and fire shots from point-blank range,” said Small.

Police collected at least 27 spent shell casings at the scene from at least two guns — including a semiautomatic rifle. They believe they found the SUV, which they said continued east on Market Street after the shooting, then turned south onto 56th Street.

"There was a vehicle description. We believe we have recovered that vehicle," said Vanore, "so detectives are working to recover more evidence around that."

According to investigators, there are numerous surveillance cameras on the block and they’re trying to see all angles. Vanore said the suspects were dressed in dark clothing and masks. Though police believe the shooting was targeted, they’ve yet to piece together a motive.
