Woman in custody, accused of assaulting man with knife on SEPTA train

PHILDELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- A woman is in custody after a bloody altercation on a SEPTA train with another passenger on Friday morning.

SEPTA says the woman was arguing with a man on a Market-Frankford Line train in University City, and she slashed his hand with a knife.

A SEPTA spokesman says this happened around 5:30 a.m. on an eastbound El train approaching 30th Street Station. When the train stopped, police arrested the woman, who has not been identified.

The victim is expected to recover. Officials believe this was not a random attack.

Police believe they both got on the train at 46th Street Station.
