Woman dies in West Kensington shooting; 3 shot minutes beforehand

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police said that a woman has died after being shot in the head late Monday afternoon, a short time and distance from a triple shooting.

A man is in custody for the deadly shooting which happened at 5:50 p.m. near the corner of 3rd and Huntingdon streets, according to police.

Police said the 25-year-old woman was shot in the head. She was taken to Temple Hospital, but died at about 6 p.m.

Authorities said they recovered two weapons from the scene.

Police said the deadly shooting came just 14 minutes after a triple shooting three miles away, near Fairmount Park.

Three men were shot, all listed in stable condition:
- A 57-year-old man who was shot in the back and rear end
- A 27-year-old man, shot in the shoulder
- A 23-year-old man, shot in the right arm

Police said no weapons were initially recovered from the scene, and no suspects were initially recovered. There was no word on any direct connection between the shootings.
