PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are investigating a shooting in West Philadelphia that left a 19-year-old woman in critical condition.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday near 56th Street and Haverford Avenue.
According to officials, a man opened fire on a group of people, striking the woman in the chest.
Three other people who were with the victim told police they got into a verbal altercation with the shooter before he opened fire.
Investigators are searching for a man in his 20s who was wearing dark clothing and carrying a backpack with a “teeth” design.
