PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A woman stabbed her mother to death in West Philadelphia, investigators said.
The victim was found late Sunday night bleeding in front of her neighbor’s house on Westminster Avenue, near 46th Street. Police believe she was there to try to get help.
“We believe that the stabbing victim left her apartment here on the 4600 block and was attempting to get help from a neighbor when the stabbing occurred outside, closer and in front of the neighbor’s home,” said Inspector D.F. Pace.
The daughter ran off. Police are still looking for her, and they are very concerned about the safety of her children.
“There’s still a lot of questions to be answered with respect to this incident, as to what transpired, what motivated the stabbing,” Pace said. “The culprit in this incident, the perpetrator … we understand she may have children as well. We’re trying to determine where they are and ensure their safety.”
Police are still questioning witnesses and reviewing surveillance video to try to figure out what happened.
