PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are trying to find two women in connection with a deadly shooting that happened inside a corner store in the Point Breeze section of the city Monday night.
Around 6:40 p.m., police were called to the store at 20th and Federal streets for a reported shooting. The shop is across the street from the Engine 24 firehouse and the 17th District police building.
Officers found a 35-year-old man who had been shot at least four times in the torso and leg.
“It appears that the motive at this time — the shooting victim, when he was inside the deli, he was involved in a verbal altercation with two females,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small, “which turned into a physical altercation. And that’s when we know one of the females pulled a handgun and fired at least five shots.”
The women ran out. One appeared to flee east on Federal Street while the other went south on 20th Street, police said.
Officers took the victim to the hospital, where he died. Police later identified him as 35-year-old Tyreece Jerry, of West Philadelphia.
There are surveillance cameras inside and outside the store, and others in the neighborhood, which police are using to try to identify and find the women involved in the incident.

Police released images of the suspects and said they are known to frequent the deli. Anyone who recognizes them is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or 215-686-3335. Tips can also be submitted by calling or texting 215-686-8477.
Officials said they are considered armed and dangerous.
