A camel who escaped a Living Nativity Scene in Kansas is back where she belongs, but she gave Bonner Springs police quite a run for the money.
Reports say the Dromedary camel was part of the Living Nativity at an agricultural center and museum about 20 miles west of Kansas City.
With no one apparently noticing, she simply wandered away. Animal Control looked for hours and then called in police to help. Even then, the camel was seen and videoed cantering through the streets of Bonner Springs and through at least one golf course where officers commandeered golf carts to give chase.
The police eventually cornered the critter in a back yard while Animal Control came in with a lasso and tied her to a tree until the owners came in to pick her up.
