Finding a snake inside one’s home can be extremely distressing, even for those unafraid of the reptile. However, one homeowner may have taken things a little too far in an attempt to get rid of a snake infestation.
New homes always have issues, even the ones that cost $1.8 million. One Maryland homeowner learned that the hard way about their recently purchased mansion while trying to smoke out a family of snakes by burning coal.
Their first mistake was to place the coal near combustible material. It caused a fire that quickly spread through the house, doing about $1 million worth of damage.
Luckily no one was injured in the fire. However, the whereabouts of the snakes is still unknown, according to WRAL. If they can afford a $1.8 million mansion, maybe next time they will spring for a professional to come handle the snakes.
