
As officials in the New Orleans area continue to assess the damage caused by Hurricane Ida, prospects of restoring power and water service are proving sobering for residents of Jefferson Parish.

WATER
Water pressure in East Jefferson Parish is almost zero.
There is a boil-water advisory in effect.
Watermain breaks due to downed trees.
Water will be out for at least five days as crews repair water mains.
If you are here or if you want to come back, this is not a time where you'll have water.
Water should be restored before power.
POWER
About 98% of Jefferson Parish is without power.
Kenner completely powerless.
District 4 completely powerless.
At least three weeks without power is a conservative estimate it seems.
Entergy had no estimate for power restoration Monday morning.
More downed powerlines than ever before.
DAMAGE
More roof damage during Hurricane Ida than during Hurricane Katrina.
Most people will need blue tarps.
Kenner City Hall destroyed.
Epic wind damage.
Downed trees, through homes.
No reports of injuries as of 8:40 a.m., continuing to assess the damage.
