Feeling "middle aged" is more of a feeling than an actual number. At least that's what a new new study out of the United Kingdom has found. According to the results, society as a whole feels like they've reached the middle-age mark by their 47th birthday.
The study of 2,000 adults found the most common "feelings" associated with feeling middle-aged included: "feeling stiff all over," "getting a ‘middle age belly,'" and "not knowing what songs are in the charts."
Additionally, the top 10 signs you're getting in middle age, according to the survey via SWNS Digital, include:
10 - Thinking policemen/teachers/doctors look really young
9 - Finding you have no idea what ‘young people’ are talking about
8 - You don’t know any songs in the top 10
7 - Can’t shift weight
6 - Forgetfulness
5 - Choosing clothes and shoes for comfort rather than style
4 - Saying "It wasn’t like that when I was young"
3 - Groaning when you bend down
2 - "Middle age" belly
1 - Feeling stiff
The survey featured the top 50 signs that you're feeling middle aged, which can be seen below:
