Travis Kelce wildly claims nobody said Chiefs would win Super Bowl

This iteration of the Chiefs has been widely respected for half a decade now, but Travis Kelce apparently is not privy to that information.

The Chiefs won their second Super Bowl of the Patrick Mahomes/Andy Reid era Sunday with a thrilling 38-35 victory over the Eagles. Kansas City entered the game as the betting underdog, especially with all the uncertainty around the health of Mahomes’ ankle.

But even with that uncertainty, plenty of folks were picking the Chiefs, and most who didn’t were not expecting a blowout. That’s how things looked in the preseason too. There was uncertainty about the impact the Tyreek Hill departure would have on the offense, but the Chiefs on most sportsbooks had top-three odds to claim the Lombardi Trophy.

For some reason though, after the win, the Chiefs tight end called out, well, everyone, for not picking the Chiefs.

"Not one of y'all said the Chiefs were going to take it home this year. Not a single one," Kelce shouted in an interview with FOX's Erin Andrews. "Feel that (expletive). Feel it. And on top of that the next time the Chiefs say something, put some respect on our name."

This isn't to say the Chiefs didn’t have their detractors. But to claim nobody picked them? That’s just strawmanning.
