PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Derek is a confident, outgoing and enthusiastic 16-year old who loves the outdoors.
"I love going out and fishing. I love taking hikes," he said.
Just as much as he likes being inside playing on his gaming system or watching movies.
"I'm a big Star Wars fan, a big, huge Legos fan," he said.
"I'm a big Nerf guy fan. I am actually a big movies fan. Harry Potter, Batman, Spiderman, Flash, all the Marvels, all the DC characters."
Derek dreams of a two parent family and having a dog of his own.
"I love dogs," he said.
"I like to take them outside for walks. I like to run around with them. I like to play with them."
As Derek heads into the 10th grade, this young man likes who he sees in the mirror, proud of his own can do attitude and easy-going demeanor.
"I'm kind, I'm helpful, I'm energetic, I'm pretty nice, funny."
