PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Estefani is a 10-year-old girl beloved by all those who adoringly call her by her nickname, Este.
She is unable to speak but instead communicates with her eyes and smile to let you know what she is thinking and how she is feeling.
Her adoption recruiter, Emily Benancheitti, has a great fondness for Estefani as she works to find her a permanent home. She said Estefani "communicates her wants and needs one way or another. She may not be verbal, but she has a beautiful smile. Her eyes light up."
Estefani exudes love and will bring joy to any family who can enjoy walking with her, reading to her and playing her favorite songs by Lady Gaga.
"It really goes back to music," Benancheitti said. "She loves, loves, loves a good rhythm. She can be found bopping her head to a good beat."
And if you try to put on other music, she will sure let you know by pretending to fall asleep, according to Benancheitti.
Estefani attends school during the day and will need a family who can provide her with special support.
