Wednesday's Child: Ma'Lonnie

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Ma'Lonnie is a bright and creative teenager who has a style all her own.

She exudes confidence, along with a high degree of self-awareness.

"I'm really sweet, helpful, and very bright. Honestly, intelligent," she said. "There are a lot of things I know that not a lot of kids my age know."

For starters, she knows what it means to eat well. The ninth-grader eats plenty of fruits and vegetables, and she gets creative when cooking up mounds of pasta and noodles.

"I'm so passionate about cooking spaghetti because I love pasta or anything Japanese like ramen, but I make it a certain way," Ma'Lonnie said.

In her spare time, she likes to draw or work on her makeup skills, creating new looks for herself. She enjoys music and shopping. Her favorite color is black, and Halloween is her top holiday.

It's important to Ma'Lonnie to have a family that provides structure and support while giving her room to grow.

"I don't want to be treated differently because I'm adopted," she said. "I wanted to be called your child. I want to be known as your child."

Ma'Lonnie is ready to share her love of eating, cooking, music, shopping and horror films with a family who will be understanding and ready to give her their all.
