Code Orange air quality alert in effect as temps peak in mid-90s

There's an air quality alert in effect for our region Monday as temperatures peak in the mid-90s. Environmental officials say the extreme highs -- about 20 degrees above average -- will ramp up ozone production, leaving the air at a Code Orange level today. That means people who are sensitive to heat and air pollutants should take precautions and limit outdoor activity.
