Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection has declared a Code Orange air quality alert for Tuesday, June 29.
The department says that sunny skies, high temperatures and light winds will lead to a buildup of ozone, degrading air quality.
Affected areas include Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.
Sensitive groups such as children, older adults, and those with respiratory conditions like asthma are advised to limit outdoor activities.
Residents can check air quality in their area at airnow.gov.
