NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says the league welcomes an investigation into the handling of Jalen Hurts' medical care.
Questions have been swirling about why the Eagles quarterback was medically cleared to play in London and then fly back to Philly after developing a blood clot.
Hurts was in the hospital in London before the game against the Jaguars. Later that week, the team put him on the injured reserve list. Doctors later determined he had multiple blood clots in his lungs. He is expected to be out for the rest of the season.
The NFL's chief medical officer says the Eagles followed the proper steps, but the NFL Players Association is calling for an investigation.
Goodell downplayed the role that international travel might have played. He said the most important thing is Hurts' health and his future.
