Despite extreme heat pushing many event cancellations, Philly 2026 director says concert on the Parkway is still on

The extreme heat has scratched several signature events from Philadelphia's holiday calendar. Friday morning's Salute to Independence parade was scrapped, as well as Friday night's Queen Latifah concert on the Ben Franklin Parkway.  Philadelphia 2026 Director Michael Newmuis, though, is quick to point out that Saturday night's big Parkway concert is ON.
