Drivers, this is your warning: Speed cameras are being activated on Frankford Avenue in Northeast Philly, from Morrell Avenue to Levick Street.
For the next two months, police will issue warnings. Then, tickets of $100 to $150 start going out on June 12. The speed limit in that area is 25 mph.
The Philadelphia Parking Authority says this is about saving lives. Similar cameras along Roosevelt Boulevard have reduced speeding by 95%.
