A man was killed by police after he opened fire at officers in West Philadelphia Saturday night, wounding three of them. Officials have identified the suspect as 57-year-old Eric Franks. Police said Franks started an argument with them, then pulled a gun and started shooting.
Franks was a former Marine and retired Philly firefighter. The family's attorney, James Funt, says Franks was a firearms instructor who had a permit to carry. Funt says the Franks family is asking for a full investigation.
