Reports have emerged questioning Senator John Fetterman's interest in doing the duties of a senator including attendance at hearings and willingness to meet with constituents. According to staffers he has declined to meet with representatives of CHOP.
Democrats, including Representative Brendan Boyle of the second district, have been critical.
Boyle was asked directly during an appearance in Northeast Philadelphia if he was considering running for the senate seat in 2028.
The midterms are less than eight weeks away and the results could alter control of the house and the senate, both of which are currently controlled by Republicans.
Recent polling by the New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer, and Sienna University found that 63% of registered Democrats in the Commonwealth hold an unpopular view of Senator Fetterman, while 73% of registered Republicans said they viewed him favorably.
