Trains tickets to World Cup games at Meadowlands could cost more than $100

People attending the World Cup games at the Meadowlands in North Jersey could be paying a pretty penny to get there. Driving and parking at the stadium won’t be allowed. Everyone must take mass transit to get there, and The New York Times is reporting special train tickets on match days would be $100 or more. At a press conference, Gov. Mikie Sherrill didn’t mention the train tickets but did say she doesn’t want taxpayers footing the bill for soccer fans. “One of the key things I wanted to make sure of was that we were not going to be paying for moving people who are viewing the World Cup on the backs of New Jersey taxpayers and New Jersey commuters." None of the plans are finalized yet, so there will likely be more details about how everything will work in the coming weeks. (Photo by Luke Hales/Getty Images)
