West Chester's East Side Little League team advances to World Series in Williamsport

For the fourth year in a row, a Philly-area Little League is headed to the Little League World Series in Williamsport. East Side Little League in West Chester booked its ticket to Williamsport after beating a team from Wilmington, Delaware, 3-1 in the Mid-Atlantic Championship. The East Side team has only lost one game on its way to Williamsport, and that came in the Pennsylvania State Tournament it won back on Aug. 4. It swept the Mid-Atlantic tournament. The team will open its Little League World Series campaign on Friday, Aug. 21, against the winners of the Metro and New England regions. The West Chester team's appearance comes after teams from Upper Uwchlan, Newtown, Bucks County and Media appeared in the last three tournaments. (photo credit: Getty Images)
