Dana Carvey has confirmed a long held online rumor.

For years it’s been bantered about the Internet that Carvey and “The Master of Disguise” cast “observed a moment of silence” on set for the September 11th attacks.

Carvey’s lead role was a goofy secret agent named Pistachio Disguisey, and according to the actor he was fully dressed up as the character Turtle Man during the moment of silence. The outfit included a bald cap, facial prosthetics, and a green-shelled suit.

“It’s kind of a sensitive topic, but after 9/11 I was shooting a movie called ‘Master of Disguise,’ he said on his podcast “Fly on the Wall.” We took an appropriate time off and went back to shooting and I was playing – if you’ve seen the movie, kids – The Turtle Man, with bald cap and a weird thing my lip and big green shell outfit.”

Perry Andean Blake, the movie’s director, told Defector they didn’t resume filming for two weeks after 9/11. When back on set he initiated the moment of silence.

"I'm the director, so I'm the leader of this group of people. I felt it was a little weird to be making this funny, silly kids' movie in the wake of this huge national tragedy," Blake tole the outlet. "So I felt like I needed to say something. I gave a little speech, I guess you would call it."
