In the upcoming week, Disney lovers who visit Magic Kingdom will be allowed not to wear face masks when taking pictures.

Disney World confirmed the news and explained how customers, for the moment, will be able to take off their face masks while posing for outdoor pictures, the New York Post reported.

The new rule, which states that face masks must be worn "at all times" with the exception of while swimming, eating or taking pictures outside, will go into place on April 8.

Since its reopening in July, the theme park has enforced many rules during the COVID-19 pandemic, including social distancing and always wearing a mask. There have been cases where guests have not followed protocol.

In addition to wearing a face mask, all guests entering Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs are required to undergo a temperature check.

Last month, a man in Florida made it past the medical tent sent up at the entrance of Disney Springs, the outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment complex at the Disney World, and proceeded to make his way through the complex without getting his temperature checked.

Sheriff deputies approached the 47-year-old, Kevin Stills, outside The Boathouse restaurant where he was yelling and waving his arms at the manager, according to a police report. Sills was arrested after refusing to leave Disney Springs.

In February, Disney World made a modification to its face mask policy.

Visitors who arrive at Walt Disney World’s dining locations must now wear their face masks while “standing, waiting or sitting.” Before the modifications, visitors had to keep their face mask on unless “actively eating while stationary” at the parks and Disney Springs.
