After holding nothing back, Lover basically says to throw the whole AMA's away for not letting Chris Brown perform and pay tribute to Michael Jackson’s 40th anniversary of Thriller. Getting into the nitty gritty of the official public statements that were made, calling out the decision, and expressing “it’s not about f***ing Chris Brown, it’s about Michael Jackson, the greatest of all f***ing time.
Ed said, guess what? “I don’t need you to do it, I’ll do it my damn self,” before taking the tribute into his own hands.
After listing off just a few in a long list of impressive stats about MJ’s first number one album, which stayed at top of the charts for “37 consecutive weeks” and produced “7 singles” all of which “reached the Top 10 on the Hot 100 Chart… with ‘Beat It’ and ‘Billie Jean’ reaching No. 1,” Ed delved into Thriller, track by track.
Listen to it all in the episode above.
C'Mon Son! The Podcast is Hip Hop hall of fame inductee and Yo! MTV Raps legend Ed Lover's take on pop culture. Raw, rugged and unfiltered, this podcast gives listeners a break from "the expected," and will leave them wondering (while laughing hysterically), "what the f*** is wrong with Ed Lover?"
