Kim Kardashian is here to remind us that Christmas can be the most wonderful time of the year, and also the most chaotic, with the debut of her “Santa Baby” cover and its accompanying unhinged music video.

The track, produced by brother-in-law Travis Barker, which if you’ve been keeping up with the Kardashians, you’ve heard before, during season 3 of their Hulu-updated reality show, debuted with a flurry of mixed reaction, particularly for its eccentric music video.

Throughout the visual, directed by Nadia Lee Cohen and Charlie Denis, Kim, sporting a messy short blonde wig, takes center stage, as a woozy party host crawling through the wreckage of holiday merriment gone sideways.

“Santa baby, just slip a Sable under the tree for me,” Kim exhales the lyrics in a husky whisper. Her vocals well-buried in the mix of the noisy video, which follows a zoned-out Kim, wearing pink leg warmers, tan riding pants with an exposed thong and a blue cashmere cardigan. As she slowly meanders on all fours across the garbage-strewn floor, she bypasses an array of unusual guests attending the eerie house party.

Amongst the questionable characters included; a man dressed as Jesus raiding the fridge, some deal-making stock bros yelling into corded landlines, a passed-out man-sized elf, some models playing Twister in their underwear, a donkey, an elderly sugar daddy counting $100 bills, a trio of gospel singers, and chain smoking football player, and that’s just a few from only the first half of the video.

The video, giving glitchy, VHS-tape vibes only gets more bizarre as it continues, ending with Kardashian reaching Saint Nick. After she ran her fingers up his leg, the seated man turned the video camera to show his face, revealing the creepy voyeuristic “Bad” Santa Baby, who had been videotaping the festivities, to be Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin.

While not a complete stranger to the recording studio, “Santa Baby” marks Kardashian’s first new music release in more than 13 years. Serving as the follow-up to her The-Dream and Tricky Stewart-produced debut single, 2011’s “Jam (Turn It Up).” IYKYK.
