It’s certainly been a whirlwind past 36 hours in Max Ehrich’s world.
After Ehrich’s recent comments that he and his ex Demi Lovato haven’t officially broken up, Lovato dropped her song “Still Have Me” that cemented the end of their relationship.
On Thursday evening, Ehrich took to Instagram Live to address the situation and aired his feelings. “This is just the craziest thing. This is the most bizarre experience I hope no one has to experience ever, cause no person deserves to feel this way,” he said in a video that was captured on social media.
He then compared his situation to the split between Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson. “Pete Davidson didn’t deserve to feel this way. Do you think he wrote that text to Mac Miller? Ha. Open your eyes. Calculated PR stunt, but my team is going to hate me for saying any of this,” he added.
“I hope this makes you happy,” he said. “You just lost someone who loved you fully, completely, infinitely for everything.”
Lovato reportedly changed lyrics of her new song “Still Have Me” to reflect her split from Ehrich. Her team was reportedly blindsided by the move as they didn’t see the song coming.
"Everything around me shattered/All the highs are now just lows/But it doesn't even matter/'Cause I'd rather be alone," she sings in one of the song’s verses.
Lovato and Enrich got engaged in July. On Friday, Max followed up with a statement on socials, and signed off.
