
“General Hospital” star Tyler Christopher, who also had a role on “Days of Our Lives,” has died at the age of 50, according to a statement from his representative.
Christopher’s agent, Chi Muoi Lo, shared the news of his passing in a statement to CNN, noting that he died on Tuesday morning.
“This news was incredibly shocking, and I am devastated by his loss. He was a very gifted actor, and more importantly, an amazing friend. My heart goes out to his friends and family who loved him so much,” the statement read.
Christopher had two children with ESPN reporter Brienne Pedigo, who he married in 2008 before they split in 2021, People reported. He was also married to actress Eva Longoria from 2002 to 2004.
The actor was best known for his role as Nikolas Cassadine on the daytime soap opera “General Hospital.” He portrayed the character from 1996 to 2016, with his acting earning him a Daytime Emmy win and four additional nominations.
Maurice Bernard, Christopher’s co-star on the show, shared a tribute for his friend on Instagram on Tuesday.
“Tyler was a truly talented individual that lit up the screen in every scene he performed and relished bringing joy to his loyal fans through his acting,” Bernard wrote. “Tyler was a sweet soul and wonderful friend to all of those who knew him.”
