The “Chopped N Skrewed” rapper announced that he is stepping away from his roots and releasing a non-auto-tuned album that will encompass covers from Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs,” Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” and many more from others like Chris Stapelton and Sam Cooke.
The album, titled On Top Of The Covers will give the rapper a chance to showcase his true and raw vocals and will be accompanied with two intimate shows in Los Angeles on March 17 and 18.
He teased the release on Valentine’s Day by quoting a fan’s tweet that read “Anything that T-Pain covers or remixes is always so hard,” to which he replied “Buckle up cause I got an announcement coming tomorrow.”
This will be his first album since the 2019 release of 1UP.
