Live 105 headed out to Salt Lake City this past weekend for Kilby Block Party, where one of the strongest indie lineups of the year took over the Utah State Fairpark for three days of music, community, and an undeniable energy.

Fans of all ages traveled from near and far to converge on the Kilby festival grounds for the weekend. Friday started sunny and hot, Saturday cooled off under overcast skies, and by Sunday, light rain had rolled in, somehow making the final day feel even more memorable.

Japanese Breakfast, Father John Misty, Modest Mouse, and Die Spitz each brought distinct sounds to Friday, adding variety and momentum throughout the day. That momentum peaked with Turnstile, who delivered one of the weekend’s most explosive sets, turning the crowd into nonstop movement from start to finish.

Saturday balanced emotion and artistry across nearly every stage. The Last Dinner Party set the tone with theatrical visuals and playful energy, before Lucy Dacus followed with an intimate, emotionally grounded set. The day reached its emotional peak with The xx, who returned for their first tour in eight years. Their reunion felt especially meaningful, blending fan favorites with material from their solo work during the break.

By Sunday, the cooler weather and light rain completely changed the vibe of the festival grounds in the best way. flipturn helped shape the early part of the day’s lineup before Hayley Williams made her first-ever solo festival appearance. Magdalena Bay followed with one of the weekend’s most colorful and energetic sets, before Lorde closed out the festival with a rain-soaked performance that felt like a fitting end to the weekend.

Kilby Block Party added another strong chapter to an already active festival season, standing out as one of its highlights. Many of the weekend’s artists will continue touring throughout the year, offering more chances to catch them live. Anticipation is already building for next year’s edition.
