Virtual Bridal Shower Ideas

So, you have to plan a bridal shower right in the midst of Covid? What to do?! No need to cancel plans! There are plenty of ways to pull it off and still have a great time. Now that restrictions are easing, you might want to  consider a small gathering of people and leaving the door open for virtual visits from other guests.  Or go ahead and make it a full-blown virtual occasion for everyone.  Either way, here are ideas to make it special.

Your first and most important step for going virtual is to choose your platform. Do you Zoom, Facetime or Facebook Live? Magic 101.9 has some help and information on that right HERE for you!

Got your platform? Great! Here are suggestions for pulling off a Bridal Shower to remember!

Decorations:Make sure it LOOKS like a party. If you can’t set up at the Bride-To-Be’s house, send her a fun party background she can set up herself. Then, organize with partygoers to either decorate their own backgrounds or offer up a virtual one they can use.  Platforms like Zoom will allow for background changes. Jazz things up and give it a real party feel!

Gift Giving Ahead of Time:Make sure guests have all the information to send gifts ahead of time.  Registries will help with that and all gifts can be delivered directly to the bride. That way the bride will be able to open presents in front of all her virtual guests. Is it really a shower if you can’t open and show off your gifts?!

Dress for the Occasion:You may be visiting via video but take the occasion seriously. Dressing as you would for an actual in-person bridal shower helps keep the moment special and adds a touch of sophistication.

Virtual games:It’s not a Bridal Shower without some games! Fortunately, you can still play most of the common ones. Guess the number of candies in the jar, Bride and Groom trivia, Bridal Bingo, Celebrity Couples Trivia, etc.   These are still easy to do via video!  Keep your prizing to gift cards or e-cards that are easily send to winners after the event.

Cocktails:A good bridal shower deserves a good cocktail. Why don’t you create an easy Bridal Signature drink recipe and send to party goers ahead of time?  That way everyone will have a drink in hand to help them celebrate and toast the bride.

Things to do ahead of time:With a little planning you can incorporate a lot of fun into the occasion!  Sure it’s a little extra work, but it’s the little extras that will help you pull off a bridal shower to remember.

Gift Bags:If you’re able to, think about dropping off or mailing out party gift bags to participants. Include shower favorites like candies, cookies and treats. You could also include the makings for that signature cocktail we talked about previously. --

Collecting Recipes:Email participants and ask them to contribute their favorite family recipe. Then, print and bound the recipes into a pretty book for the bride. Drop it off before the shower and she can enjoy showing it off to guests.

Collecting Marriage Advice:Send guests a self-addressed stamped postcard and ask them to print on it some marriage advice for the bride and groom. Have guests mail it back to the bride’s address and it’ll be an instant memento for the couple.

Pandemics are hard, but Bridal Showers should be easy! Just keep it all about the fun and make it happen the best ways you can! Good luck from all of us at Magic 101.9!
