Wet Nose Wednesday Pet: CeCe

brown/grey dog with white areas and a very happy smile
Animal Rescue New Orleans

Once upon a thunderstorm, there was a dog named CeCe; a 5-year-old Shepherd mix with eyes that seem to remember everything, and a heart that forgives it all anyway. Adopted as a chubby 5-month-old baby from Take Paws, she grew up loved, cherished, and devoted—proof that good girls don’t finish last... unless life throws them a toddler.

Now before you clutch your pearls, know this: CeCe isn’t dramatic. She’s just a connoisseur of peace and predictability. She loves people (especially ones who don’t shriek and dart in zigzags), gets along well with other dogs after a proper “how-do-you-do,” and absolutely shines at daycare—like the honor roll student who brought snacks for the class.

She’s housebroken, trustworthy when left alone, spayed, vetted, and has energy levels that match her spirit: calm mornings, cozy afternoons, and mild enthusiasm for evening strolls. She doesn’t need chaos; she needs comfort. Thunderstorms make her anxious, vet visits ruffle her feathers, but with a little medicine and a lot of love, she manages gracefully, like a lady sipping wine through turbulence.
When her home grew louder and smaller humans appeared, CeCe tried her best to adapt. But sometimes love means letting go—and her family, with another baby on the way, made the hardest and kindest choice they could.

So now, CeCe is waiting once more for someone gentle. Someone who believes that quiet love is still love at full volume. Because CeCe isn’t starting over. She’s simply continuing her story and this time, she’s hoping you’ll be the chapter that finally feels like home.
