UPDATE: More than 51% of Entergy customers restored, about 90% of CLECO customers

Entergy officials say the have reconnected a majority of their customers that lost power in Hurricane Ida.

Entergy said Monday, "After eight days of restoration work, crews across southeast Louisiana have restored power more than half of all customers who were affected by Hurricane Ida."

As of 6:30pm, Entergy reported 427,117 outages.

CLECO says it has restored about 90% of all outages.

On the Northshore, CLECO had about 10,369 customers without power as of 6:30pm in St. Tammany and Washington Parish.

Peak Entergy outage was a little more than 900,00 customers.

The company says 90 percent of its New Orleans customers should be restored by Wednesday.

Entergy Louisiana expects to have most customers in Jefferson and St. Bernard parishes restored by then. The Bell Chasse area of Plaquemines Parish should be mostly  restored by Friday.

Harder-hit areas along the coast, such as Grand Isle, or areas closer to the center of Hurricane Ida as it passed over the state, could be without power until the end of the month. And some houses may have received damage that makes them unable to receive power when it is restored to their neighborhoods.

Washington-St. Tammany Electric have reconnected around 75 percent of customers.
