Some online commenters did not share the same joy Christie Brinkley did as she shared a selfie the other day.
The supermodel posted to her Instagram a front-facing camera selfie and she got some not so nice replies.
“Who Nelly!” Brinkley updated the caption the morning after posted. “The Wrinkle Brigade is out in full force in the comment thread! They are the people that scan celebrities pages, hoping to find some cellulite, wrinkles, or anything that they can point to to critique.”
The selfie was part of an original carousel of photos that also showcased New York City throughout. The original caption was, “Downtown Girl.”
Commenters came through and posted rude items about her looks and she came back with some words of her own, while thanking some too.
“It must be some form of compensation for something they are lacking,” she wrote. “But when those people appear, there are others who pop up with messages so kind and valuable. Those are the comments that restore my faith and make my heart sing! Thank you sweet souls.”
“One of the reasons Christie has been & always will be one of the world’s most iconic beauties is bc she leads with kindness,” one positive user posted.
“I absolutely love what you just wrote that is a recipe for aging gracefully and for finding true happiness too! And it’s written in the most charming way!” Brinkley responded to the comment.
