But while many drivers have made the switch, some aren’t ready to let their old vehicle go. Luckily, Ford has developed something to make the transition to easier for new EV owners. The car company recently unveiled a new gas-scented fragrance for people switching to electric cars.
Ford recently unveiled their new Mach-Eau GT, which features the new gasoline fragrance, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. After conducting a survey of EV owners, asking them what they miss most about their old car, Ford found the majority of respondents said they miss the gas smell.
“Judging by our survey findings, the sensory appeal of petrol cars is still something drivers are reluctant to give up. The Mach Eau fragrance is designed to give them a hint of that fuel-fragrance they still crave," said Ford spokesman Jay Ward.
According to Fox News, the concoction doesn't contain petroleum, but "is designed to please the nose of any wearer.” Sadly, the fragrance is not for sale, and can currently only be found in the new Mach-Eau GT. Maybe one day all drivers can experience the smell of gasoline in their Electric vehicle.
